Admissions Process

Junior Kindergarten-Grade Eight

Outdoor Play

I. TOUR OF THE SCHOOL

Tours are available weekday mornings. Tour reservations are made by contacting the Admissions Office (228-1197, ext. 118) at least a day in advance. Touring parents will have the opportunity to meet the teachers and administrators, and to visit classes for all grades and subjects.

II. APPLICATION

Parents complete the application and return it to the Admissions Office with the non-refundable application fee of $50.00.

III. STUDENT VISIT

After the application and fee are received, applicants for grades two through eight will be scheduled to spend the day with a class in the school. Language Arts

IV. ASSESSMENT

Applicants for Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten and first grade will be scheduled for a developmental assessment designed to measure readiness for structured learning activities.

V. RECOMMENDATIONS

Applicants for Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten and first grade need one recommendation. Applicants for grades two through eight need two recommendations, one of which must be from the applicant's current teacher.

VI. TRANSCRIPT FROM PREVIOUS SCHOOL

Parents of applicants for grades two through eight are asked to sign a "Release of Information" form and forward it and the recommendation form(s) to the applicant's current school.

VII. ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE

The Admissions Committee will review each applicant's file when it is complete and notify parents by February 15 of their decision. Applicants whose files are not complete by February 15 will be notified when their files are complete and places become open.

TUITION

Tuition is set annually by the Board of Trustees. An enrollment fee of $1000 is due at the time the enrollment contract is returned, thus securing the child's space for the coming year. This fee is non-refundable. Four tuition payment plans are available to parents: Full Pay, 60/40, 10-month and 12-month. A 5% Service Charge is included on all outstanding balances due after June 1.

FINANCIAL AID

Financial aid is available. To establish need, parents must file online a confidential financial statement with the FACTS Tuition Aid service. Information is available from the school office. Financial aid grants are made without regard to race, religion, color, national or ethnic origin.
