Study Hall is offered as part of the Extended Day Program for students in grades 5-8. Faculty supervision and academic assistance is provided to students from class dismissal until 5:00 p.m.
Student Expectations
Organize Yourself. Check your planner and bring the materials from your class area or locker before you come to Study Hall. Be On Time. Study Hall begins at the end of the school day after your lead teacher or advisor has dismissed you from class. Have Something To Work On or Do. If you have little or no homework, make sure that you have a way to quietly fill time with activities such as reading a book or art work . No Gameboys or CD Players are allowed during Study Hall. Work Quietly. Ask the monitor for permission when you need to work with others. When it is appropriate to work with a partner(s), you must avoid distracting or disturbing the group.
Students who cannot follow the above mentioned expectations may receive a pink slip from the monitor, or may not be allowed to return for a given period of time depending on the degree of misbehavior. Students who utilize Study Hall are able to improve study skills.
Parents who wish to utilize Study Hall will be invoiced by the Business Office once per month, based on the prior month’s attendance record. Daily attendance records will be maintained by the Study Hall Monitor. We ask that all parents interested in participating in Study Hall complete the Weekly Study Hall Schedule below. Parents interested in drop-in service not reflected in the Weekly Study Hall Schedule, are required to notify the school by 9:00 a.m. that school day.
