Welcome to the 2018-19 school year! Morning Meeting on Wednesday was fantastic, seeing all our returning students and welcoming transfer students and the Class of 2022. The start of a new year brings with it endless possibilities, and this cycle is one of the many things I love about working in a school. Can’t wait to see what the year holds in store for all our High School students!

We had a wonderful 9th grade orientation on Tuesday, spending much of the day at Camp Piomingo on team building exercises led by two of our alumni, Alma Herovic G’10, ’14 and Savannah Cornett ’15 (and assisted by five of our fabulous upperclassmen – many thanks to Sophie Johnson, Adelaide Lenihan, Maggie McGraw, Chandler Durbin, and Chris Hammond for their help).

I’m writing this early, as I head off to the annual whitewater rafting (and, this year, zip lining) adventure with our seniors. Four other faculty members and I look forward to sharing these days with the Class of 2019, facilitating bonding time and discussion of the year to come before they come back and dive in.

A big THANK YOU to our Parent Association for dropping off pastries and bagels for the faculty and staff on the first day of school. We so appreciate your thoughtfulness!

Please make sure your calendars are marked for our Back-to-School Night on Wednesday, August 29th at 6:30 p.m. New parents (transfer and 9th grade) are invited to join us for the New Parent Reception prior to this at 5:30 p.m. I look forward to seeing all of you soon!
