Pack your bags for a trip to Watkins Glen, New York to the “luxurious” Gorges Motel! The St. Francis School Drama Project’s fall high school production is a two-act collection of 10-minute scenes, highlighted by Act Two’s “The Gorges Motel.”
Act One is an appetizer of three wonderful scenes by American playwrights David Ives and Jack Neary that includes “Sure Thing” and “Words, Words, Words” from the “It’s All in the Timing collection.” In Act Two, lives intersect in comic and dramatic fashion in a motel that has seen better days. Break-ups and a wedding, a rapping reverend and a drone attack, the ridiculous and the sublime all come together in one unlikely place. “The Gorges Motel” is comprised of the short plays “Missing” by James Hindman, “Kissing Cousins” by Craig Pospisil, “What Lola Saw” by Isaac Himmelman, “Reverend” and “Second Chance” by Lynne Halliday, and “Here Comes the Drone” by Arlene Hutton.
Join us on Friday, December 3 and Saturday, December 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the Goshen Campus Theater! Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door. Cash, credit cards, and checks accepted.
“The Gorges Motel” contains mature language and subject matter and is appropriate for students 8th grade and older.
“The Gorges Motel,” “Sure Thing,” and “Words, Words, Words” are presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
