By Renee Hennessy, Preschool Director

Welcome back! We hope everyone had a great Holiday Break! It is so, so good to see everyone again. The children entered the classrooms with such eagerness to see their friends. And doesn’t it seem like everyone has grown an inch taller? We are looking forward to a great second semester.

We began the week at an in-service on the Downtown Campus. Our entire faculty and staff are continuing with our initiative on the topic of culturally responsive practices in our classrooms and in our community.

We also welcomed a new teacher, Carmen Raidy, to our team. She is in her 10th year of teaching preschool, and in addition to teaching preschool, she has worked in education programs at the Kentucky Humane Society, the Louisville Zoo, and the Kentucky Science Center.

Carmen is an alumna of Transylvania University, where she studied elementary education. Her time outside of school is usually spent reading, watching figure skating, doing yoga, or hanging out with her dogs Ginger and Leo, her rabbit Meryl, and her rat Bunter.
