By Renee Hennessy, Preschool Director

We said goodbye to our beloved Preschool teacher Paul Harshaw this week. We decided to do so in Preschool style, complete with a cookie cake and party! To say that Paul will be missed is a major understatement and simply doesn’t convey how much he means to all of us. We admire his passion for art, love of children, and excitement about outdoor education! His absence will be felt in our program and hearts for years to come. Mister Paul is a Trailblazer for life!

On Tuesday we hosted our second Coffee + Conversation where we talked about building relationships with children. We discussed how children relate to others and how family members can help them build on the skills needed to have positive social relationships. Social and emotional development is vital to a child’s well-being, so it is important for us to think about how we mediate conflicts they might have when playing alongside others. We discussed strategies that parents can use to help their children interact with their peers when they get stuck. Thanks to all who attended!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Coat Drive to benefit Keystone Learning Academy. We delivered 120 coats to them this morning!

Next week we will be participating in a few spirit-filled holiday events with the Lower and Middle Schools. On Thursday, we will have a school-wide Pajama Day! And Friday is Festive Holiday Wear Day. Word on the street is that the jolly old elf, Santa Claus, will be stopping by our Big Sing for a visit, too. Please join us Friday, December 21st at 9:00 a.m. for the Big Sing if you can; it is a great way to start your day!
